The following are (modified) extracts from the Club's Constitution and are issued solely as a guideline. In all cases, the Club's Constitution and standing orders are the formal rules by which the Club is run. A copy of the full constitution may be obtained from the Secretary on request.
a) Subscriptions of all members become due at the end of March. If these are not paid within 2 months membership lapses. If the member wishes to renew his/ her lapsed membership before the end of the year, he/ she shall be liable for the FULL subscription and joining fee, but does not need to submit a formal membership application.
b) Any member may resign membership by giving the Membership Secretary notice in writing tom that effect, but shall not be entitled to a refund of any part of his/ her subscription for the year in which he / she resigns.
c) Any person ceasing to be a member of the Club shall forfeit all rights to, and claims upon, the Club and its property and funds, except for any notification to the Membership Secretary in writing at the time of resignation.
d) Every member of the Club should communicate to the Membership Secretary any change of address and other relevant details.
e) The Club's Annual General Meeting (AGM) is held during November, and all members are entitled (and encouraged) to attend. If you wish to raise anything at the AGM, please tell the Secretary well in advance, at least seven days notice are formally required.
f) An Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) may be convened (14 days notice needed) by neither the Committee, or by the written request of 25% of the membership.
g) The quorum for AGM's and EGM's is 25% of the membership or 25 members, whichever is the lesser figure.
h) All members have a single vote at these meetings (no proxies allowed).
i) The Committee normally meets once a month. You are welcome to attend as an observer, and welcome to inspect the minutes of the meeting at any reasonable time.
j) All members are encouraged to host two events a year.
k) Members are not allowed to receive any profit, salary or emoluments from the funds or transactions of the club, with the exception of services rendered at the request of the Committee.
